ADMHN's 60th Anniversary Celebration
On October 14, 2015, Oscar nominated actress and author, Mariel Hemingway, provided the keynote address for close to 500 supporters of Arapahoe/Douglas Mental Health Network (ADMHN) at heir 60th anniversary Shine On celebration at the Grand Hyatt Downtown Denver. Attendees were mesmerized during Ms. Hemingway’s remarks, which included personal accounts of her family’s history of mental illness, addiction and suicide and the perspectives she has gained through choosing a healthy lifestyle.
CEO Joan DiMaria shared, “We were really thrilled and so fortunate to have Mariel Hemingway speak at our 60th anniversary celebration because her story helped raise awareness around mental illness, which one in four adults struggle with today. Her ability to cope, grow and forgive is an inspiration and an example we can all benefit from.”
The celebration, co-chaired by community leaders Cindi Burge and Kay Burke, raised over $200,000 in support for the network’s suicide prevention, early intervention and mental health crisis care. Sponsors included Amerisource Bergen, Citywide Banks, Kay Burke and Family, and the Anna and John J. Sie Foundation.
ADMHN honored George Delgrosso, former CEO of Colorado Behavioral healthcare Council for his Visionary Leadership and Centura Colorado Health neighborhoods for their Visionary Partnership. Both have made great strides in the integrated healthcare movement.
