ACT Skills for Life

October 21 @ 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm
|Recurring Group (See all)

An event every week that begins at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, repeating until February 28, 2027

ACT Skills for Life is a practical, hands-on group based on Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). Participants will learn simple skills for managing difficult thoughts, feelings, and stressful situations without letting them take over. The group also helps participants identify what matters most to them and take small steps toward a more meaningful life.

Each week includes discussion, hands-on exercises, and opportunities to practice skills that can be used in everyday life.

Participants will learn to:
• Handle difficult thoughts without automatically believing or acting on them.
• Make space for uncomfortable feelings instead of fighting or avoiding them.
• Ground themselves in the present moment when feeling overwhelmed or emotionally stuck.
• Identify their values and use them to guide their choices.
• Take small, realistic steps toward the life they want, even when difficult thoughts or feelings are present.
