When to seek help
It can be difficult to determine when a child might need help from a mental health professional. Parents and family members are usually the first to notice if a child is experiencing problems with emotions or behavior.
Observations from teachers, medical providers and other care givers may also highlight behaviors one should be concerned about. If a problem is suspected or questions arise, reach out to AllHealth Network at (303) 730-8858 to determine if your child may need professional intervention.
Here are some signs a child may benefit from mental health counseling:
- Frequent temper tantrums
- Repeated refusal to go to school or take part in activities
- Hyperactivity or fidgeting
- Persistent disobedience or aggression
- Irritability
- Sibling rivalry
- Difficulty making or keeping friends
- Being too "clingy" or "needy"
Children experiencing events such as parental divorce, death or illness of a loved one, or other difficulties may also find counseling beneficial.
