From Surviving to Thriving. This group provides skills to help heal from maladaptive defensive mechanisms that were taught as a child. Distress Tolerance Skills, Skills for relationships, Skills to manage internal and external criticisms.
Clients will learn various life skills once a week. Topics may include laundry, taking care of houseplants, following a recipe, or managing money. Clients will discuss life situations in which each skill will be relevant, and how to solve possible problems each skill could include.
Dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) group helps individuals to learn how to manage emotions and improve personal relationships.
